Queclink GMT100
GMT100 is a GPS tracker that was specially designed for motorcycles, scooters, snowmobiles, motor boats and similar vehicles. It has has strong protection from the water, as well as sophisticated power management algorithms to prevent vehicle's battery drain.
Another quite essential thing to mention is built-in relay that can block the engine to prevent vehicle staling. This internal relay eases installation as you don't need to add an extra wires, which is rare suitable for scooters and sportbikes.
Location technologies
There is one of the latest u-blox GNSS chip inside Queclink GMT100. It's pretty sensitive and no doubts that external GPS antenna is not required indeed (which is very helpful for simple and hidden installation on motorcycle or boat). It also supports Assisted GPS technology which provides short TTFF. Thanks to the flexible settings available for tracking the tracks look accurate.
The GSM Cell id based location method can be used as a back up – to provide approximate location when no GPS signals are available (e.g. in the multi-level parking facilities). But this feature is also should be supported on the tracking software platform's side.
Anti-theft features
Thanks to the built-in relay the engine blocking feature can be added in minutes and even does not require very professional skills. After that you'll be able to control it remotely over GPRS (if you tracking software supports this) or SMS.
Device detects towing, jamming and, potentially, external alarm system triggering with a descrete input. To increase security you can connect a siren to the one of its outputs.
The accelerometer in GMT100 is used not only for towing detection, but also for driving quality monitoring. You can set the tresholds for what you want to consider as harsh driving (braking, accelerating and cornering) and the device will generate correspondent reports to GPS tracking software.
Sophisticated power management
Since the capacity of batteries on scooters and motorcycles is much less than in cars, the way how the energy is used by a GPS tracker is a sensitive issue. With GMT100 you don't have to choose between battery usage and security. To preserve the battery of vehicle when it is not used, GMT100 offers smart power management algorythms. They are based on 3-axis accelerotmeter and three options for internal battery charge, which are configurable by user. When ignition is off, there are several scenarios how the internal battery is charged:
- Normal – the external power supply will charge the internal backup battery on need and power for unit.
- Powersaving – The external power supply will only charge the internal backup battery when ignition on is detected. The charge process is stopped when ignition off. During charging, the external power supply will power the unit, otherwise the internal backup battery will supply power for unit.
- Advanced – the external power supply will charge the internal backup battery when ignition on is detected or when the internal backup battery capacity is less than 30% if ignition is off. During charging, the external power supply will power the unit, otherwise the internal backup battery will supply power for unit.
What are the weak sides of Queclink GMT100?
Generally GMT100 is quite unique and good for its purposes. If we are not speaking about its price, some of its features can become disadvantages, though it depends on the application. For example, the large capacity of the internal battery and built-in relay mean bigger size of the GPS tracker, so you probably might to look at its fellow brother GMT200 instead.
GM100 has one analog input which potentially can be used for fuel level or temperature measurment. However, the absense of digital interfaces will limit you in accuracy.

Queclink GV300N
Queclink GV300N is the same Queclink GV300 model, but it has a newer firmware, and it is a compact device designed for concealed installation in the vehicle. There are both internal and external GPS antennas: in other words, external antenna is optional. The device is embedded with rechargeable backup battery. Three LED indicators help during the installation and diagnostic. Queclink GV300N is not waterproof.
Thanks to GNSS chip from ublox and functional firmware Queclink GV300N supports: multi-system navigation (GPS and GLONASS), Assisted GPS (A-GPS) technology and Cell ID based location. The overall sensitivity is good enough (if necessary you can connect an external GPS antenna). Together with adjustable tracking modes all of these guarantee reliable and accurate GPS tracking.
There is a number of inputs in GV300N, including analog ones, which allow to connect multiple vehicle sensors of various types. To control external equipment a couple of outputs is used. One serial interface (type RS232) lets connect, on user's choice, digital fuel level sensor, camera, PND (Garmin protocol is supported) or external CAN reader.
As a GPS tracker manufacturer Queclink is well known for its functional devices with comprehensive firmware, and GV300N is not the exception. The firmware allows to configure a lot of options (including remote control over GPRS), detect a wide range of events, read data from CAN bus and digital fuel level sensors, use Garmin-compatible PND, monitor driving behaviour. The firmware of Queclink GV300N can be updated OTA (Over-the-Air).
- Adjustable working modes: tracking, sleeping
- Self-monitoring: GPS/GSM/Battery levels
- RS232 for digital devices: fuel level sensor, CAN bus reader, camera, Garmin-compativle PND
- Wide range of detectable events (including tow, jamming)
- Driver behaviour monitoring based on accelerometer, speed and ignition
- Rechargeable backup battery
- Over-the-Air firmware update
- There is only one RS232 serial interface, which can be a limitation if you want to connect multiple digital devices, i.e. two fuel sensors or fuel sensor and camera. For these cases RS485 interface would be better, but there is no such an interface.
- The absence of 1-wire interface makes it more difficult to control the temperature and identify drivers, though external RFID reader can be still connected to RS232 interface
- Not waterproof. If you require IP-rated water resistance, check Queclink GMT100 or Queclink GMT200 models instead

Queclink GV500
GV500 comes with modern GNSS chip from u-blox, which has high sensitivity and receives signals of GPS, GLONASS and other systems. Besides it supports Assisted GPS (A-GPS) technology for faster location acquiring. To provide even better sensitivity the device is embedded with two GPS antennas (for manufacture dates starting from December 2015). The second antenna serves as a backup in case the main antenna does not perform well in some specific situations (OBDII trackers are often placed under the wheel's column where GPS signals are weaker). All of these give a positive impact on the quality of tracking.
As for the tracking modes, they are fully adjustable: by time and distance intervals, direction change. The device has power saving modes and well detects the movement status according to the Ignition stat (PIN #1) and smart proprietary algorithm based on internal G-Sensor.
Queclink GV500 reads a lot of data from an vehicle's diagnostic system. The tracker supports many standards (J1850 PWM, J1850 VPW, ISO 9141-2, ISO 14230, ISO 15765, J1939, CAN_USER1, CAN_USER2 and VW TP2.0) and on this criterion is considered one of the best OBDII devices. With Gv500 you can retrieve the following information:
- Fuel level
- Fuel consumption
- Dashboard speed
- Coolant temperature
- Throttle position
- Engine load
- VIN – Vehicle Identification Number
- and other
It also provides information about MIL (Malfunction Indicator Lamp – Check Engine) and DTC error codes.
The number of detected events far exceeds the typical amount for OBDII trackers. GV500 hardware and firmware process such events as Tow, Harsh driving (braking, cornering, acceleration), Long idling (with engine working), Detach from OBDII socket, Low external power voltage, Low backup battery, Signal jamming and others.
Advanced power management helps to provide lower power consumption and that device can work for many hours even in active mode.
For specific installations an OBDII extension cable can be offered.
